Benefits of having a residency?

You are not limited to the length of your stay on Roatán (upon arrival on the island you will get 30 to 90 days of confirmed stay in your passport, if you want to stay longer you have to go to the immigration office and they will extend your stay for a fee)

  • In case you arrive in Roatán, you do not wait in line at the airport (up to 3 hours), but take your turn as a local citizen
  • In case of some problem (see Covid) they must allow you access to Roatán
  • The local authorities will look at you better than the average tourist
  • You can take out Honduran citizenship in the future

The residency period is a minimum of 6 months.
The prices will be converted according to the current exchange rate.

What kind of residency can you have?

  • Residency Rentiér - regular monthly income of 2 500 USD from abroad to an established bank account in Roatán
  • Residency retirement pension - regular monthly income of $1,500 from abroad into an established bank account in Roatán
